Safety and privacy in KoloPlus
You decide what others see, who may write to you and what happens to your data. Here is how to protect your account and set privacy to suit you.
Safety is not an extra feature for us but the foundation of the portal. Below is everything worth knowing: from protecting your sign-in to how and when we show advertising. Read it once and you can use KoloPlus with peace of mind.
Protecting your account
Your account is the key to your conversations and reputation, so take care of it:
- A strong password. Use a long, unique password that you do not reuse on other sites.
- Two-factor authentication. If it is available, turn it on — it is the best protection against account theft even if the password leaks.
- Care with links. Do not enter your data on third-party sites pretending to be the portal. Check the address.
- Sensitive actions need confirmation. Changing your e-mail, deleting the account and other important operations are additionally protected so an outsider cannot use them.
Managing privacy
Privacy in KoloPlus is a set of simple switches entirely in your hands:
- Visibility of profile and posts. You decide who sees your activity.
- Who may write and comment. Narrow the circle of those who can interact with you if you need to.
- Block list. Block anyone and that person disappears from your space: they will not see your posts and cannot write or comment. The block list works across the portal, in most of its sections.
Reports and moderation
If someone breaks the rules — spams, insults, behaves threateningly — report them. Moderation reviews reports and offenders face restrictions up to a ban. This is the community’s tool for self-defence: the more actively it is used, the healthier the circle stays.
Protecting minors
We pay particular attention to the safety of younger users. The portal applies special restrictions to protect minors: separate rules for contact sections, limits on certain features and heightened caution in everything concerning children and teenagers. The safety of young people is a priority that is not up for debate.
Your data
We collect exactly as much data as the portal needs to work, and we do not sell your personal data to advertisers. You have the right to view your information, correct it and, if you wish, delete the account together with the data. How to do it is described on the page account deletion. Full terms are in the Privacy Policy.
Honesty about advertising
So the portal can grow, some pages may carry advertising. We do it by clear rules:
- Ads appear only where there is real content, never on empty or utility screens.
- It does not disguise itself as the interface and is not confused with the portal’s buttons.
- We do not turn the feed into a solid shop window and do not abuse the number of ads.
More about how we manage advertising is in the legal documents. We believe openness about monetisation is part of respect for the user.
